Call for Volunteers - Wirral and Cheshire Badger Group

Call for Volunteers - Wirral and Cheshire Badger Group:

This is a request from the Wirral and Cheshire Badger Group. Please help if you can, this is a great group to be involved in, they are a really active group, they manage two woodlands in Cheshire and are surveying constantly. They are also starting a vaccination program and approaching local landowners to aid the long-term conservation of this iconic mammal within the Cheshire region.

We are looking for a Newsletter Editor who is reasonably good with computers and could produce the newsletter in any software they see fit (Microsoft Word or Publisher would suffice). You would need to collect articles and put the newsletter together (3 times a year). We are looking for a fresh approach to the design and layout so you can make it your own!

Fundraising Officer – we need someone who has (ideally) a bit of experience at fundraising and applying for grants. This person would assist throughout the year in devising fundraising initiatives and working with the fundraising assistants.

Fundraising Assistants - could you arrange to place collection boxes and leaflets at suitable locations near you (local vets or shops), this would be a drop off and collect type system. There is also scope to get involved with fundraising initiatives organised by the Fundraising Officer.

Press Spokesperson – do you have experience of creating press releases and liaising with the press. We need someone who can promote the Group to local and national press and keep in contact with journalists on all the key issues.

Website/social media administrator – our website needs a complete overhaul and there is a lot of scope for extending our work via social media and the internet, if you have experience in this area this could be an exciting new challenge."
