Getting even more confused with micros - ID help needed

Post by JohnD »

Hi

I put a moth up a couple of days ago that I thought might be Acrolepia autumnitella. Whilst just over the 5-6mm fore-wing length given in Sterling & Parsons, it did have a distinct black streak near the apex (but it didn't have a tuft). That moth was caught in my garden on 14-8-21. Just going through the photos for the garden catch of 22-8-21 and found this little beastie - which is a similar size, but does not have the apical streak. I'm wondering if this is the Leek moth Acrolepiopsis assectella? Be grateful for thoughts.
