Fieldfares In Cheshire

Fieldfares In Cheshire:

Has anyone else been seeing Fieldfares (Turdus pilaris) in the last fortnight ?? I had one in a tree at the bottom of the garden in Priory Close, Runcorn (SJ54038215) this morning (Thursday 14th January 2010) and I know Jeff Clarke has had a number of them eating apples on his snow covered lawn in Penketh, Warrington recently.

Should anyone see any Fieldfares or Redwings over the Winter then rECOrd would be VERY pleased to receive the information pertaining to the sightings. Information needed is as follows:

Species Name, Location Name, Grid Ref., Date, Name and contact details of the person who saw the birds, number seen.

The information can be e-mailed to steve.mcwilliam@btinternet.com or to hannah@rECOrd-LRC.co.uk

Many thanks.

We have had a Fieldfare in the garden in Woolton, Liverpool 9/1/2010, 10/1/2010 and 16/1/2010. After the first visit I put apple out for it which it ate about a quarter of the second visit but did not touch it on the third visit.
