Boletus sp. ? - ID Help Requested:
I have a copy of Collins FG to Mushrooms & Toadstools by Cortecuisse & Duhem but for the most part struggle with ID using this - there are so many similar looking fungi illustrated and my old little Observers Book of Fungi is at the opposite extreme.
I found a number of quite large, distinctive looking fungi on a public lawn area in Upton-by Chester yesterday ( 8 Sept 2015) . Most small lawn fungi I don't attempt. These larger ones seemed to best match a Boletus and I thought perhaps B.aestivalis ? These are illustrated by the lower three shots of the same fungus.
Above this is a similar, but I think different, Fungus I found in Delamere Forest in a very different habitat on 3 September 2015. I would appreciate help with ID of both of these and, if possible, key points that identify them.
Thank you.
