Because of the problems with CWT charging for courses, which has led to no bookings for this Grasses course, run by Hilary Ash, she is now running it for volunteers as below.

Introduction to Grasses, sedges and rushes at New Ferry Butterfly Park on Saturday 15th June, 10am to approx 3pm.

Cost: donation to cover costs, as you can afford, but no more than £10. People who have already offered to help can come free.

Tea/coffee/water provided, bring lunch (or buy locally). Outdoor site - come suitably dressed. Gazebos if it rains!

The course will cover telling the three plant families apart, and getting to know a number of common grasses, plus the most common sedges and rushes, using what grows on NFBP and samples brought in from marshland (Prenton Dell) and acid grassland (Bidston Hill).

This is a replacement for the CWT advertised course, which will not now run, and is for volunteers with WW,CWT and partner organisations such as Record and Liverpool World Museum.

Because of the short notice, let Hilary know asap if you want to come
