Spanish Moths:

I've just returned from my annual trip to Tarifa for the raptor migration and have collected several images of the various macro and micro moths I caught around the hotel lights.

I've attached a few here, but have several more.

Can anyone help with their identification?

Regards,

Kevin Peace

Hi Kevin,

I've got some Spanish / European ID books, and having just returned from Spain myself, am currently going through a similar process. I'll add some ID's in the next few days.

Hi Kevin,

I can't do them all, but here's a few:-

Tarifa 14 is The Latin
65A a Lace Border
255 - Tawny Prominent
329 - Ophiusa tirhaca
754 - Fairly sure its a Jersey Emerald, or if not, some kind of Pseudoterpna
537 - looks like Dolicharthria punctalis

If you have ideas of how big 112 and 252 are that would be a help, and 839 looks like it ought to be a Schrankia-type snout of sorts.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks,

252 was Willow Beauty size,
112 was Single-dotted wave size.
