Nightshades?

Could someone let me know if I have identified these plants correctly please (despite poor photographs)? They were found last August on the outskirts of Shocklach. Are they common in Cheshire?

Both of your identifications are quite correct. Enchanter's Nightshade is fairly common in Cheshire and likes the shade of woods and hedgerows. Black Nightshade is not related and is more common especially in the west. It is a weed of disturbed ground and seems particularly fond of maize fields perhaps because they are cropped late in the year, giving it time to flourish.
